Arrival by Airplane at Leipzig-Halle Airport

From Leipzig-Halle Airport, the Leipzig Central Station can be accessed directly by train. After your arrival by airplane at Leipzig-Halle Airport, go to the airport train service and take the express train ("FlughafenExpress") to the city centre of Leipzig. There are two stops, one at the big exhibition hall ("Neuwiederitzsch/Neue Messe") and one at the Central Station ("Leipzig Hbf - Hauptbahnhof"), which you will reach after about 14 minutes. The express train leaves from the airport every hour. To get from the Central Station to the conference location, please follow the information for the arrival by train below.


Arrival by Train at Leipzig Central Station

From the Central Station, the conference location can be reached by tram. You can take tram line 16 in direction "Lößnig". After 4 stops, you will arrive at the destination "Johannisallee". You can also take tram line 15 in direction "Meusdorf". After 3 stops, you will arrive at the destination "Ostplatz". After your arrival at the tram stops, use the map on the Location page to find the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy at "Johannisallee 29", where the conference takes place.

Since you will travel not more than 4 stops, you can buy a "short distance single ticket" ("Kurzstrecke", 1.60 EUR) on one of the ticket machines. For more than 4 stops, a "single ticket" ("Einzelfahrkarte", 2.30 EUR) would be necessary.

Arrival by Car

Leipzig can be reached by car via autobahn (motorway) A14 (Halle-Dresden) or A9 (Berlin-Nürnberg). In case you are coming from autobahn A9, change to A14 in direction Dresden at the interchange "Schkeuditzer Kreuz". Leave the A14 at the exit "Leipzig-Mitte", and follow the B2 in direction city centre until "Prager Straße". Then, use the map on the Location page to get to "Johannisallee 29", where the conference takes place.
